Traditional Chinese Medicine is a form of healing that views the body holistically and as a part of
nature. TCM looks at emotions, diet, lifestyle and the environment to see where dysfunction may be
coming from and to get to the root of a problem. It uses many tools such as acupuncture, cupping,
guasha, moxibustion, ear seeds, and herbal formulas to help bring the body back to balance and
homeostasis.

Acupuncture is the stimulation of certain points with very thin, sterile needles to circulate blood,
nutrients and energy throughout the body. It restores balance and harmony while stimulating the
parasympathetic nervous system to foster a safe healing environment.

Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine have a strong effect on the physical, emotional and spiritual
aspects of a person. Which is very impactful in regard to sexual, reproductive, mental and digestive
health. We are passionate about helping women with infertility, regulating the menstrual cycle,
relieving PMS symptoms, increasing libido, decreasing pain during intercourse, and reducing
menopausal symptoms. If you are struggling with infertility or plan on working with the regional
fertility clinic, it is best to start acupuncture treatment as early as possible to regulate your cycle and
body to prepare it for conception.

Acupuncture can also help with a variety of other disorders such as chronic or acute injury,
autoimmune disease, headaches/migraines, sleep issues, hormonal issues, asthma, digestion,
chronic fatigue, arthritis, and emotional dysregulation to name a few.

Thai Massage - Thai massage is a holistic modality & is relatively new to the western world. The techniques applied have been used for centuries to help relieve muscular stress, joint tension, back, neck or hip pain. It increases flexibility, strengthens the body, improves circulation, freeing blockages in energy flow & stimulates internal organs. Thai yoga massage also enhances detoxification from mental, emotional, & physical strain; revitalizing and releasing stress. It uses massage work within the meridian lines to unblock stuck energy in the body. The recipient wears loose, comfortable clothing that allows for full body movement, as one lies on a mat or firm mattress on the floor. Rather than rubbing on the muscles, there is pressure applied while the rest of the body is pulled, stretched & rocked. Postures can be held in seated, prone, supine or side lying positions. Thai yoga massage also uses an ayurvedic approach to maximize the therapeutic intent.

Reflexology is a natural and holistic therapeutic method that restores and maintain the body’s natural balance and facilitates
healing. The principle is that there are reflexes in the body that map and correlate to glands, organs and other parts of
the body.  Through the application of pressure on these reflexes, reflexology therapy can relieve tension, improve circulation, support the body's efforts to function optimally. It helps with musculoskeletal pain, insomnia, anxiety, stress, hormones, and digestive issues to name a few.

Unlike other therapies which manipulate bones or muscle tissues, Reflexology can provide much
needed relief through working the body reflex that ails you on a part of the body that does not.
The body has the ability to heal itself. Following illness, stress, injury or disease, it is in a state of
“imbalance” and vital body systems can be blocked, preventing the body from functioning
optimally. For each person, the application and the effect of the therapy is unique. Sensitive, trained
hands can detect tiny deposits and imbalances and by working on these points that are then released.
Reflexology is one of the safest and least invasive complementary therapeutic practices available.
You do not have to remove your clothing and it treats the entire body!

(Reflexology is not covered by Insurance but can be claimed through your health care spending account)

This incredible system removes most stains with a gentle LED light source that whitens your teeth. As the active ingredients in the gel used (carbamide & hydrogen peroxide) are broken down, heat, oxygen and light act upon the stained organic deposits, which oxidizes them into a whiter colour. This process makes the overall tooth colour closer to its natural unstained colour while your tooth structure remains unchanged.

The blue/red LED light emits a cold blue light that accelerate the process of oxidization & a soft red light which helps with inflammation and pain (properties found in LED light therapy) in addition to simultaneously reducing the amount of negative bacteria, which is why they are so safe. The light cannot burn the skin or gums. The wavelength is typically in the range of 465 nanometers. This wavelength activates the peroxide, accelerating the process to provide you with the quickest results possible. With the use of this specially combined LED light, we see less then 1% of the population experience any sensitivity!

We use a blended gel of Hydrogen peroxide and Carbamide Peroxide to help minimize tooth sensitivity during the whitening process. Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) is faster-acting than Carbamide Peroxide (Urea) but fast isn't always the best choice. Though fast acting formulas are exciting, they oxidize the tooth enamel rapidly, so only a thin layer of the outer surface can be treated before potential for sensitivity. This “shallow whitening” can be perfect for a special occasion but may not last long. Carbamide Peroxide is slower acting with about a third of the oxidizing power of H2O2 but is made stronger by a synergistic effect with the Hydrogen Peroxide molecules. Because it acts more slowly, it has time to penetrate deeper into the enamel with less chance of sensitivity for longer lasting whitening results.

The blended gel is a perfect concoction derived from both peroxides to deliver the best of both worlds, Fast Acting AND Long -lasting BRIGHT WHITE results with minimal risk of sensitivity!

As a Registered Dental Professional for over 17 years, Sara saw numerous patients presenting with severe TMJ that was not being alleviated through conventional therapies. This awareness propelled her to learn and specialize in TMJ therapy, helping alleviate pain & headache issues in the jaw joint and surrounding muscles in the head, face, neck and chest caused by stress, clenching/grinding, or trauma. Sara’s goal is to accomplish true pain relief, relaxation and rejuvenation in an inclusive, safe, caring & nurturing space.

In addition to TMJ Therapy, Sara discovered first-hand what the powers of Reiki and Access Bars have done to help bring balance to her body, mind and spirit. This experience led her to become a Reiki and Access Bars Practitioner in 2018, studying under Dave Nelson at “Reiki Infinite Healer” learning the traditional methods of Master Mikao Usui, the founder and pioneer of Reiki. She is working towards her Reiki mastery level 3 to be able to teach others one day about how to tap into this incredible modality. Sara truly believes that working with the energy at a more intimate level can optimize one’s healing.

Sara has also expanded her knowledge in Reflexology and holds certification and registration through the NHPC for this natural, holistic therapy. She took her training through Reflexology Experience in Calgary under Erica Weiland and blends this treatment into her unique sessions to support the entire body system on many levels or can be offered as it’s own therapy session.

This path of learning and exploration for Sara continued as she herself dealt with several major injuries, accidents and hardships over the years, contributing to her own physical, mental and emotional pain. Through these experiences, Sara started to explore the world of yoga. Sara had already learned all of these “moves” years before through sport, but they were just practiced in a different way. Feeling as though something in her was sparked, she followed this path to become a Certified Embodiment Yoga Teacher with 200-hours of training. She then continued with her advanced training to become specialized as a Trauma-Informed Thai Yoga Therapist at the 500-hour level through the Mandorla Yoga Institute.

Among these modalities Sara also holds the title of teeth whitening technician! Working in the dental field for over 15 years, Sara has expanded knowledge and taken many continued education courses around maintaining a healthy, beautiful smile. She has taken the most up to date courses on best practices and products to offer you the top of the line whitening systems to brighten your smile!
